French to English translation
There are lots of translators out there, but not all can be trusted to produce an accurate and stylistically-appropriate translation. Some lack qualifications, some lack experience and some lack attention to detail. I am not one of them, and have listed below some of my qualifications, experience and proven English language ability. - I have degree-level qualifications from both French and English universities (Essex and Nanterre);
- I have translated the subtitles of more than eleven documentaries for the major French TV channel, TV5 Monde;
- I have experience of legal translation, which was part of my degree. I regularly obtained marks of around 18/20 (an excellent mark in France);
- I have completed the Suzanne James (Translator Training) course in French to English translation (my tutor commented that I have ‘lots of writing style and talent’);
- I obtained top grades in English at A-level (a UK higher education certificate) and on my TESOL teacher training course;
- I have worked as an English teacher and proofreader;
- I have a qualification in French Law following three years’ study of the field;
- I enhance my fluency in French by listening to French radio podcasts such as L’Édito Politique and Allô l’Europe.
- I also have qualifications in my specialist areas, namely law, finance, business, literature, arts and crafts.
